Welcome to The Hunt. Anybody can join at any time, just post in the thread.
GMs: This game is being run by FadedOasis and Heller.
Core Game: Each player gets sent the names of two people. Those are their marks. While playing on MKWEA, you can kill your mark by dominating him, screencapping the TF2 scoreboard, and posting a link to that screenshot in this thread. When you kill your mark, you will get one point and one gold and will be assigned a new mark. (If you are immediately killed, and your opponent gets revenge, you may take a screenshot of the kill notifications. You may NOT screenshot the kill notices unless this happens.) New rule for this Hunt: For any kills to count, there must be at least three players on each team.
Accusations: Once per day, if you dominate someone who you think is hunting you, you can accuse them by taking a screenshot and posting it, and clearly label that you are accusing them. (You can kill and accuse in the same screenshot.) If they are hunting you, you get a point and two gold, and they will be assigned a new mark. If you guess wrong, and they aren't hunting you, you are forbidden from making any more accusations for a six days. You CAN accuse someone who isn't playing.New rule for this Hunt: For any kills to count, there must be at least three players on each team.
Requesting a new mark: If you find hunting your mark to be difficult, you may publicly request a new mark. Your mark will have one day (the start of the next day, plus 24 hours) to dominate you. If they don't, you get a new mark to replace them and you can't request a new mark for six days. (If they do dominate you, you still get a new mark.) Requesting a new mark no longer resets your idle timer.
Daily game updates: This thread will probably be checked multiple times per day, but game updates will occur EXACTLY ONCE each day, at around 12pm Eastern. If you get a new mark early, please don't hunt them down until after 12pm.
Idle and Phasing Out: If you do not kill, die, accuse, or be accused for six days, you will lose 1 point and 3 gold, and be automatically phased out of the game. You must post in this thread to join in again.
Mark distribution will be weighted by score. The more points you have, the more people will hunt you. Probably. There will still be an element of randomness in mark assignments.
This season of The Hunt will end on August 10th, at 12pm. The prize pool can be found to the left. We will give out eleven prizes this round. Prize draft is as follows: 1st place, 1st place, 2nd place, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
The Item Shop: You will be awarded for your kills not only with points, but also with gold. One gold for killing your mark, two gold for killing your hunter. You may buy any of the items in stock. Unless specified in the item description, all item purchases are resolved after all other actions.

To the one who calls himself "Mirage": First, know that I am a fan of your work. The carnage. The intrigue. The deception. It entertains me, to say the least. It is my understanding that the possibility exists—however remote—that you will be forced to "close up shop," so to speak. This simply will not stand. Enclosed you will find an account number, with enough to fund your operation for the next three months. I understand that this would normally secure access to your facilities for the next thirteen, though I insist that alternate arrangements be made. You will stage a Hunt, using ten of those months to seed the prize pool, and invite any of your other benefactors to do the same. Set the remaining three aside. I will not be claiming them for myself... yet. I have special plans for the victor, as will be made apparent soon enough. Lastly, neither you nor your associates should attempt to ascertain my identity and/or whereabouts. Not only is my funding contingent upon my anonymity, it would be unwise on a more... corporeal level. I look forward to your cooperation.
