I use a basic reload script for solly (lol +reload), and a few weapon changing scripts for other classes. None of them use the wait command. I've never myself noticed the effects of other people's scripts while playing.

I don't use scripts at all, never have. I've studied them to understand them better, but I honestly could never tell when someone was using them or not.

i often see quick fire scripts as well as others and i feal that using wait comand scripts can sometime make the game much less enjoyable. though some wait comand scripts may be harmless i do not think they should be alowed on this server. however, if they are i will start using them, even though i disagree with them and have never used them beffore.

I believe I noticed once, when I was backstabbed, and the killcam half a second later showed the guy both invisible and a distance away. Now, it could have been pure skill, but even so it seems way too risky (if you move that quickly and you miss or failstab, you basically blow your opportunity), so I've come to the conclusion that it was most likely a script. It was also a questionable tactical move since gotten the guy I was standing next to (who was equally oblivious), but safer in the short run.
Even so, very subtle, hard to tell. Of course, I also have a somewhat spurious knowledge of what scripts can (and cannot) specifically do, so I'm not sure what to look for, really.
Now that said, I don't like scripts, but I don't think they have the power of themselves to unbalance the game (yes, unfair, but whatever). Well, except for maybe the pistol script (like the scout needs more power).

So. Now what? Many votes have been cast, and a small amount of discussion has ensued. What should come next?

i believe that the server should not alow the wait comand. after some reserch i have found scripts that actualy manipulate your hit-box causing many un registering hits. most of these include the wait comand. one script that i have found makes you crouch and uncrouch so rapidly that your hitbox is a constant blur. this is usualy used while jumping.
i have also heard of, but have not seen, scripts that alow the spy to shoot while using the dead ringer. i believe the script just spams the deadringer so much that you can still shoot.
so scripts are completeley harmless and i doubt any regulars on the server use bad wait comand scripts, but i feel that for the sake of fair-play the server should not alow scripts with the wait comand.

the crouch hitbox blurring was taken out a long time ago. It relied on crouching and uncrouching rapidly, which you can no longer do.
I think that the threat of these scripts to the enjoyability of the server is really quite minor compared to the cost to the community of chasing away regulars. Pubbing is nice, but the real reason I frequent this server is because of the cool people who make up this community. <3
I feel we should worry more about creating a welcoming hangout for our regular users rather than fretting over game balance minutia that most people don't notice anyway. Let valve worry about dead ringer exploits and pistol scripts, and we can worry about bromance. <3

1. With or without the wait command, there are still plenty of viable scripts that players can, and will, use. All this does is limit them in their choices, or causes them to re-write their set-up to take out the wait command.
2. User who DON'T remove the wait line from their scripts but still play here will cause the endless loop to activate and eventually bog down the server.
3. My whole thought is that if they are REALLY that game breaking and bad, Valve will step in and either A. Tone them down, B. Remove them (which in the instance of the crouching exploit, they have... as I'm sure they will for the aforementioned dead ringer exploit).
