Come guys.. am I the only 'metal head' here? I use that term in moderation though cause I listen to all kinds of rock stuff, but tend to favor the heavy.
Opeth - Progressive death metal, ie, some death stuff, a lot of progressive clean vocals and acoustic work, show me musicians with more talent and I'll give you a cookie.
Other great stuff.. Cannibal Corpse Nile The Smashing Pumpkins A Perfect Circle Deftones Cradle of Filth American Head Charge Alice in Chains Nine Inch Nails
Just to name a few

I wasn't familiar with Opeth so I went to the tube of you and filtered by their most viewed video: And was pleasantly surprised. Pretty cool tune. I'm also a fan of APC (and Tool), Alice in Chains and NIN. Someone on another board introduced me to Last.fm and I pretty much let the plugin run attached to my iTunes unquestioned, so here's my profile for anyone interested or who has one themselves. I just like the song and band tracking to see what trends my "shuffle" plays more than the rest...

That is from their latest album Watershed, pretty good stuff. Of all their albums though..
My Arms, Your Hearse Blackwater Park Delieverance & Damnation(2 separate albums simultaneously one normal Opeth, the other experimental all acoustic)
...are the best albums.
Check out these quality creations of fine music, I picked out good selection of representative songs for Opeth:

Best Demo Music Ever. I know it is Irish but the fiddle is more snazzy than the bagpipes.

They are both Irish boybands (kind of) but the Dropkick Murphys are way too feminine for my taste

Yeah but if you're that successful it's hard not to go mainstream, if the man offered me millions of dollars I'd stop telling him to go **** himself. Hahahahaha. Fuck you. Favorite bands. Buckethead Led Zeppelin Queens of the Stone Age Red Hot Chili Peppers Smashing Pumpkins Soundgarden I enjoy a lot of variety though. Lamb of God to Iron & Wine.

! And cliche sounds like a scout? Also Nippz have you heard any RHCP's unreleased stuff? It's really good, I think the only reason they didn't release it was to spite us.

I know of four unreleased song by them, look them up. "Million Miles of Water." "Rivers of Avalon" "The Bicycle Song" (Prolly my favorite.) and "Funny Face."
I'm a fan of their more alty stuff though I defiantly listen to their funky stuff too.
Midnight on By the Way has my favorite lyrics out of any song ever.
"All along I said I know no enemies, Mix it up until there are no pedigrees."
Support interracial couples!

By the Way has great lyrics. But my favorite album by them is Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Of course. Also, John Frusciante's tone ftw. My bands drummer and I are totally gonna try and see them when they tour next year.

Ditto me and my buddies have already set up a fund so we can afford it. They gotta make the album first though. I don't think they've even started working on it yet.
I hope they play Red Rocks because it's basically one of the sickest venues in the country and only less than an hour drive from where I live. I saw the Smashing Pumpkins there with The Bravery. Such a sick show.

They go into the studio next Monday supposedly. I looked up The Bicycle Song, I really liked it.
I'm sure they will, its a pretty big venue. The guy that sits next to me in my Philosophy class has been there.

Getting pumped for gaems tonight, so I thought I'd post what I'm listening to in an attempt to jump-start this thread. Maybe some of the new blood could post some of their stuff? :3
So much b33tz+ch33z. <3

My playlist for tonight is a rotation of Alanis Morissette, Lady Gaga, and The Veronicas.
