A double-post? I thought that applied only to text repeated
If any should scowl, it should be for my lack of single line phrases

Edit: Whatsit, you cad, you deleted your post that I referred to.
Whatsit messed up his haiku, it should really be the following one:
"Last Edit: Today at 7:57 pm by Whatsit"
I fixed it for you but now I can't stop talking in haiku format
Sora is a jerk, always posting shit like this. I can't let him win.
Perhaps I should just try to post my own ideas in a newer thread.
Alas, my ideas never seem to pan out like I think they ought to.
So I am stuck here, writing senseless sentences in haiku format.
I could be doing other things with my free time, like playing a game.
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box came out today.
It's sitting right here, in my DS lite, waiting for me to play it.
But I am stuck here, typing out all of these lines in haiku format.
I could be shooting critical rockets at you in Team Fortress 2,
or even trying to beat my Audiosurf Challenge's high score.
I could pick up my fake, plastic guitar, and play along with Rock Band.
But I have no life, so I continue writing in haiku format.

This quote has been clipped to facilitate reading since it's way too long. FadedOasis: though you write many poems, your flow is lacking. Well, not all are so; a few of them are quite good, although most sound clipped. What I mean to say: it seems like a large message, placed in haiku form. Maybe I'm too harsh. This thread should be about fun! (In the haiku form.) Reply to Blasty: I don't think you understand. Haiku form is strict. Wikipediaand dictionary.comshould clear confusion.

I will not answer in a haiku, but you see Haiku is---DAMNIT! NOW IM DOING IT! if you ask anyone who took advance literary study (woot for college credit high school ap classes) haiku was not originally the 5-7-5 form it is today. But it became popular for the 5-7-5 form and was often seen as that. but truely it doesn't have to be. thats just the norm nowadays. LEARNED.
And did you really just try to prove something through wikipedia? yo just lost all respect to me.

Wikipedia sites many sources, you know. But Blasty has not (I have yet to see anything but simple words contradicting me.) A web of knowledge; perhaps not the best end point, but better than none. Their accuracy increases relatively to the popular. Besides, history may have shaped the current form, but paths are not ends. And technically Haiku's themes are natural, and that is not all; in strict formation, there should be a pause or cut, a season mentioned. Only then is it a traditional "haiku". Like the following: A cherry blossom, Standing stark against the snow - Waiting for new life. (Just for clarity that one was original; it was not borrowed.) Haiku are about a few words describing much, a scene, and movement. Adding more moraoverrides simplicity - and that's the whole point. (English works quite well because it has many words for any concept. To put it simply, using English provides great flexibility - which means it supplies fertile soil in which to grow many a haiku.) Like flowers in spring, natural themes are sprouting - the circle completes. Edit is below. An addendum regarding haiku semantics. It should be mentioned that when 5-7-5 breaks, it should be shorter. This is because longer English syllables make haiku easy. The spirit remains, converse in very few words; more is just nonsense. (" Haiku in English", also Wikipedia sheds more light on this.) (By the way Blasty I did all the legwork here that was tasked to you! But really there's not many credible sources on teh interwebs. It's hard to gauge if these poems are just a trend or even "haiku". ...but such a question really is outside the scope of this discussion. Stupid semantics together with artsy types creates confusion since innovation within communication doesn't always work. At the very least haiku is 5-7-5 though it may be more. Nonetheless Blasty you're too wordy for this thread. Shape up or ship out!) I grow tired now too much haiku is draining when it's 2am.
