So I thought it would be fun to get a RTS game/tourney going. It would NOT be supr srs. I'm a mediocre RTS player, so skill is not a requirement if you want to join. This post is just to see how many ppl would be interested; depending on turnout and the degree of interest this could be a one time thing, or a recurring event. The game can be chosen later (as I'm open to anything), but my favorite games are: Civ 4 Starcraft Supreme Commander Sins of a Solar Empire I suppose I'm leaning towards either Starcraft or Civ 4 cuz' those are the most popular.... But anyway, Post your interest/ideas below!

Or we could use bnet like normal people Sorry, bro. Lost my cd-key at least 6 years ago. Also, iccup and hamachi has less lag.

Isn't Civ4 very, very turn-based? Sorry, bro. Lost my cd-key at least 6 years ago. Also, iccup and hamachi has less lag. Me2, but it is super super easy to hax. Just punch in a bunch of random numbers, and then keep changing the last digit until it takes it. me3 :( I actually convinced one of my friends way back to try that key generation method. Unless battle.net is waaay lax on the validation these days, it won't work. I think the number we came up with was 1 in 30,000 chance of randomly guessing one, though I can't remember how we got 30,000. In other news, those of you who enjoy RTS games should stay the hell away from Perimeter 2, currently on sale on Steam. It is possibly the worst commercially sold game I've played in a decade. It's not even worth playing for the bad-game amusement factor. Perimeter (1) on the other hand, was one of my all-time favorite games of the genre. Oh, and I guess I'd be up for a game of Starcraft if things get worked out. Haven't played in, uh 7-8 years, but I'm sure I could pick it up.

We should also do some Empire: Total War, C&C or LotRBfME Hmm Yes, all good options except I don't have Command and Conquer. And yes civ4 is turned based, but there is a RT game mode.... Not so great though I prefer turn based.

download iccup (www.google.com) and follow the instructions (in engrish) and make an account, and you can log into the iccup server which works with pirated copies of starcraft for which you've forgotten the CD key. Allows for LAN settings to be used online to reduce latency and there's some anti cheat stuff or something.

Ok, Looks Like the general consensus is a starcraft game. Sounds good.
Now all that remains is determining the date and time that this will go down. I'm thinking a friday because it's just more convenient, but I'm open for other days depending on what 'yall say.
Oh and be sure to download that iccup thingie, I haven't yet but that seems to be the game medium.

We/I can also setup a MKWEA Hamachi. It tricks Starcraft into thinking we are all physically connected by LAN.

Interesting. Would we all need to download the hamachi client? Or does it just work straight with the starcraft LAN?

You would need to install it. I like Hamachi when I play with people I know, and I do the occasional random game on Iccup.

Hey, I've got hamachi too Convenience FTW! Who will host the Hamachi server? (Think we could do it through Faded's TF2 server as a full-time chat-and-Starcraft program?)
