World of Goo, currently on sale on the developer's website for whatever you want to pay for it, even a penny. Valid till October 25th. I've played all the way through, it's a fun game. www.2dboy.com/games.php

You can pay a penny...if you hate creativity and love. Seriously, cough up a couple of bucks for the guys, they deserve it.

If you pay anything less than 30 cents the company actually loses money. FYI

If you pay anything less than 30 cents the company actually loses money. FYI They don't lose money, they just don't get any, i.e. PayPal swallows the lot. And yeah, I think it's worth more than a penny, but a subject of 'World of Goo for a few bucks or whatever you want to pay' is kinda wordy. Plus I figure people who wouldn't ordinarily give the game a chance might be willing to play for (essentially) free, then maybe get one for their kid brother for whatever that's worth. Seriously, guys, the developer's experimenting with something different. Don't make people feel bad just because they don't want to spend $20 on a game they might not like. FWIW I already had the Steam edition, and still spent a few dollars getting a second copy. Addendum: What's interesting about the whole thing is that it's actually been pretty lucrative for them. In the first week, the developers made about $100,000 profit from the system, not counting the apparently related rise in Steam sales. In all likelihood, that's money they'd never have seen otherwise. Average price tended up, suggesting that a lot of the later sales were from recommendations or subsequent purchases at higher prices.

Well, they have to pay hosting fees and such too...but anyway.
I do wonder how many people got the game for a penny, then turned around and bought another copy at a real price. The world may never know...

I bought it for $5, so I'll just skip a meal to make up the difference. It is very entertaining. And if all their lore was true I could power the world.
