5.1 headsets are a gimmick. Get some high quality like sienhiezer(sp?), sony, bose or something like that.

Quick note: Bose is not actually good at making high quality audio equipment, they're just good at lying about it in advertisements. There's a very good reason they've never been THX certified.

Phevnil bought a Sennheiser headset, he says it's not as good as my old Cyber Acoustics AC401 (20$, free shipping on Bell ) or my current LG (USB :c) was/is. Now, how is a 5.1 headset supposed to be worth its money...? It would make sense to throw a subwoofer in, but aside from that 2 speakers is all you could ever need, that close to your face...

Well the reason i wanted a 5.1 headset is because i have a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and I'm sick of having to switch from stereo to 5.1 every time i want to swap. www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106157*Not a 5.1 headset but awesome nonetheless. Now i need some way to simultaneously hook up my stereo headset and my 5.1 surround sound speakers to my computer at once and find a way to switch between the two. At the moment i have to physically unplug my speakers and plug in the headset and then go into my windows 7 settings and change my sound configuration (I bet this could be done automatically through the use of actual drivers but the Realtek drivers that are suggested for my on-board sound card crash hl2.exe every time i install them)
