Seems we're getting bored of some maps. Let's mix it up a bit. Just make a quick post about which of the current maps you want to remove, and what maps you would like to see added.
Note: Please only add maps that you know are good, not ones you want to try out. Something that you visit other servers to play, etc.

Stuff I've noticed never get played or that empty the server: cp_desertfortress cp_follower cp_well cp_castle4 koth_harvest_final pl_cave_b6 pl_cranetop_b8 While I like some of the maps, I don't like how it immediately drops from 18 players to 8 players anytime one of these gets voted for. I don't really know of any good maps to add. I've been thinking about adding back some maps that I may have removed hastily. Candidates include: ctf_doublecross cp_junction_final pl_hoodoo_finalThis was a horrible idea.

I just noticed that I haven't seen coldfront yet. That was in the last update, right? I think I played it once, for around five minutes, some time ago and it looked pretty fun.

Coldfront was quite fun, although it seems like there are only three parallel routes to the second/fourth points. Plus, there's supposedly a rocket somewhere, but I haven't seen it.
To be honest, I like the current map rotation, there are a couple of maps that I'll always really like playing, and will nominate (badwater, nucleus, viaduct, ... do I even need to say it?) and others that I enjoy playing every once in a while for a change of pace. Customs tend to make the server die unless it's full of regulars. Even then, it's usually just the regulars remaining unless there's an outcry of "sweet! I love that map!"

Since there's 3 new payload maps, should we reevaluate the maps on the server sometime after a couple weeks? Also, are we planning to ever relaunch the maps section of the site? Also, are we ever moving to the new site as was planned?

Well, considering I have removed the maps that empty the server (cave, cranetop, and some others), I think a couple extra payloads will be fine.
Also, we might launch a maps section.
Also, Sora gave up on that other site a long time ago.

I personally don't like Castle. It's ugly, unnecessarily gigantic, and usually pretty unbalanced (nearly every time I've been in it, Red is steamrolled so easily except on a couple of points). I don't see it drawing many players and most leave when they see it, except for the server regulars. In its place, I would suggest CP Redfort. www.fpsbanana.com/maps/96875-Redfort is a small CP map with 4 points to capture/protect that is surprisingly elegant, looks good, and balanced for both sides. There is some slight complexity to some paths, but shouldn't confuse anybody after a few minutes. I see it drawing more players than making them leave, more often than not. Another map people might enjoy is PL Halfacre. www.fpsbanana.com/maps/72535-Halfacre is a 5-point long, single stage PL map; the same general setup as Cashworks. Might be a little too straightforward, however, and doesn't have much room for strategy. If you want something more complex, I would suggest: PL Borax forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5906-Just as above, this is a 5-point, single stage PL map that has much more complexity to how you can handle different choke-points and paths, but not so much that people will get confused where to go. The only problem with the map is it tends to be a bit of a cluster-fuck at the last point, but that's usually the case with the last point of PL maps. And finally, this map might be a good idea for having another KoTH map, Garbage Day. www.fpsbanana.com/maps/80910-This KoTH map is fairly open and tends to draw more players because it is really simple and friggan crazy. The point caps in just a few seconds with a single person, but it's hard to sufficiently camp it enough that it keeps switching back and forth nearly nonstop. Rarely have I seen the map end with more than 30 secs left for either team.

ctf_2fort_Revamp_b3A really great map, it really makes ctf seem worth playing Although, it is at it's best with 32 players. Still worth a try.

Yeah, I'll agree about Redfort...although admittedly, I don't think I've ever played it with more than 4v4.

I think CP_Aqua should be added it's one of my favorite customs. I do like PL_hoodoo_final but if no one else like's it, it might as well stay off the server. I think mach 4 should be removed every time it's played it get's rtv'ed pretty quickly.

Yeah, Mach4 seems to not be popular anymore, and Cashworks doesn't seem to be voted for all that often. I'm thinking about removing those, so I'm looking for some maps to add. I'll look into some maps listed in the thread.

Uh, I don't know of any Valve TC map that isn't Hydro. You'll need to be more specific.
Vertigo? Used to be on, killed the server quite often.
Cave? That was one of the maps that was removed shortly after the creation of this thread.

Oh god, I remember that CTF map. That shit killed OFH back when it was on that. I'm going to say no.

Just played this, it was fun; plr_Panic www.fpsbanana.com/maps/1194143-stage payload race, with the third stage having a gentle backwards slope on the entire track. You can win that one by either pushing your cart to the top first or defending the enemy cart until it rolls back into the abyss. The other two stages are pretty standard PLR. The tracks cross one another a bit more frequently than most, so there's less instances of one guy slipping around to the cart when nobody's watching. All very polished.

lol, I've played that one Whatsit. I like the first stage (even though the cart killed me as it started XD). The second stage seemed way too cluttered for me and was kinda annoying. And the third stage was pretty interesting, even if more often than not one team would win simply because they other team forgot/didn't know their cart could fall off and make them lose ^^

I want arena back in some form, even if only "Arena Wednesday" or whatever.
Some other thoughts, though even I'm not 100% on some of them:
ctf_royal Yeah, ctf is a pain, and basically deathmatch, but I have some good memories of this. And the other choice from long memory that I was thinking of was orange_x3 and that's just lazy mapmaking combined with sightlines of ridiculous.
cp_warpath There's a million versions of it, and some elements that aren't really tf2 standards (for example breakable structures, ladders, midscreen notifications of activities, an audio noise whenever an enemy enters the final area and some other irregularities) but I tend to have a really good time on this, even if it does fit the roll/stalemate model a hell of a lot.
More payload. I don't have anything in mind because I don't have a whole lot of custom payload to draw on, but I just think payload is often more fun than other modes. There's gotta be someone out there who knows a good one.

I think we should put redfort back on, I really liked that one and I believe other regulars liked it as well. I also like swiftwater and corporation a lot. Perhaps we could try putting these on for the custom maps event?

As I recall, the problem with redfort was that it crashed the server. I don't know if that problem has been fixed by subsequent updates.
People always said they liked swiftwater, but it always seemed to empty the server. Can't speak as to corporation, as I've not played it in ages.

I second CP_Aqua, it's a fun map. I also suggest CTF_Haarp, and Snakewater is good as well.
