Anyone else going to play? I am, and supposedly they'll allow access to the beta sometime today (Thursday) if you've got it pre-ordered. Just curious.

It's a game that originated on XBLA but (at least to me) the creators gave a kick in the pants to MS and did a fantastic job porting it over to PC and putting it on Steam (instead of GfWL). It's a class based shooter kind of set up like a combination Game Show and Pro Sports League. There's a trailer for it also available on Steam.

I actually own it on XBLA an played it a decent amount. It's kind of a mix between TF2 and DotA. It's decent enough, but tends to suffer from the same problems as DotA. I'm hoping they've done a lot of tweaking for the Steam version though, because certain parts of the XBLA one only worked because of the limitations of using a controller. Oh! and there's only like 4 maps on XBLA.

A mix between TF2 and DotA? How's that function? You buy items as the game progresses, and also upgrade your skills with levels? Are there towers? I watched the trailer, but it wasn't very descriptive over the actual gameplay.
Internets, ho!

I really should. That's kinda the point of the game.

Well, that looks absolutely crack-addicting. BUT... I'm not playing it by myself. Can we get a team of 6 at least to commit? It'd be awesome if we could get 12 and play pickups with each other. It's on me wishlist.

Pretty much what pneuma said, except items aren't bought in-game, you pick three (gold, silver and bronze levels) from a set list, then those bonuses apply the whole game. Also a bunch of people will try to tell you it's TF2 + tower defense. Ignore them. They clearly haven't played DotA. I probably won't play on steam -- I've kinda over the XBLA version by now. Not that it wasn't fun for quite a while.

Yeah, after watching some gameplay, i don't believe it to be a true blend of the two. BUT, it still looks neat. BUT I'm not playing by myself.

I might get it. TF2 and LoL (although I honestly hate LoL and will switch to DotA 2 as soon as it comes out) are my 2 favourite games right now, and a mix like this could be interesting.
