For more than a week now, the "No trading" rule has changed into a "no idling" rule. (If you don't already know this, you really need to read the server name once in a while.) It is still against the rules to sit idle in spawn for a long period of time. So here's a guide with some tips on how to trade on MKWEA without breaking the idling rule.
- Keep your backpack organized. Spend some time logged off of a server, and just move around items until you can find things. In case you haven't figured it out, item locations are tracked horizontally, and kept consistent. This is hard to explain, so let me show you: i.imgur.com/BOpKS.png
The horizontal numbering stays consistent, but the vertical is utterly destroyed. If you keep everything in rows instead of columns, everything will be a lot easier to find quickly.
- Conduct your negotiations while playing. If you have a mic, you may use it to make deals while you're playing. If you don't have a mic, please only type while you are dead, hitting Enter just after you respawn. (The other team can't see your dead text.) Standing in spawn typing out a long message isn't great, and neither is stopping in the middle of combat just to type.
- When you die, send a trade request. Don't stop on the battlefield, that Pyro will get you!
- If you spawn before the trade is completed, hit Esc. The trade won't be cancelled, and you'll be sent back to the game. Next time you die, hit Esc to see the trade dialog again.
Don't worry if the person you are trading with doesn't put up hit stuff right away, it just means he's playing. Also, the trade might take a little longer using this method, but it means you won't be kicked for spending 30 seconds just standing in spawn.
