So, the service we used to use for MKWEA Movie Nights has kinda sorta gone away, which hopefully explains the lack of Movie Nights! As a result, I've gone and decided to get creative (read "Do the most obvious thing") and just plain old stream videos. This is gonna be a little less lightweight in that it's probably going to require some installs on you folks end, but it's pretty straightforward, because you're all bright people. I'm pretty sure any old media player which can open video streams ought to be fine, but if either you don't have one, or don't like the one you have, I'm perfectly willing to suggest VLC Media Player. So in preparation for the future, if you are so inclined, go ahead and get yourself all teched up as needed. Announcements regarding the next movie night are forthcoming.

I don't know what service you used to use, but Synchtube is pretty nice: www.synchtube.com/

Or you can find one person with a justin.tv account and have them stream it for everyone.

Synchtube seems to only work with already-existing YouTube stuff, and it's against Justin.tv's TOS to stream a movie. They watch for it, too.

Synchtube also works with Dailymotion, though it's kinda buggy. If it's not already up, just upload the movie to Youtube yourself, lazy. I've watched several movies and TV shows on Synchtube. It'll be fine as long as you don't trip Youtube's copyright robots, which not every movie does. If you're worried just make a dummy account.
Justin.tv doesn't seem to watch very hard, that's where I always watch Doctor Who when it airs.

Yeah, taking the time to split up the movie into 15-minute chunks and spend days uploading them is too much work for something that's going to be watched once. We're looking for a streaming solution.

j.tv does not enforce their policy for streaming shows. Combine that with simply adding a password and labeling the broadcast as something random and it's a none issue.
