Man, I haven't upgraded my rig in several years.
Custom Built Cheap case I found online (it has blue LEDs!) AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0 GHz) 2 GB of RAM (DDR 3200?) GeForce 7600 GT 80 GB primary drive; 300 GB secondary drive Some DVD combo drive Audigy 2 sound card
I'm thinking about picking up a video card upgrade probably in January, since I'm gonna be picking up Dragon Age and L4D2, and figure that's where the major bottleneck is (barring RAM speed and advancements in CPU tech, but either of those would require a motherboard upgrade and I might as well just gut the whole thing in that case - not that I have the funds to do so in any case).
What in the hell do you use 6 gigs of ram for? Do you do tons of video processing or 3D model rendering?

I get that a lot. The story is that the ddr3 ram was on sale and it was either get 3g for 70 bucks or 6g for $100 And since I am 17 and at the time was pulling 9 hour work days. I don't have many financial responsibilities so i got 6g.

Must be nice.
Random fact: cheesecake can fit an entire single-layer DVD on his RAM, and still have enough to game.

My Rig is a Horrible amalgamation of computer parts that I have come across over the years. My favorite is my speakers from a 1998 IBM computer. They are Altec Lansing and are ghetto-rific.

Custom Built Antec Sonata III w/ 500w PSU Asus P5N-E SLI mobo Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (64bit, 2.66 GHz) 6GB RAM Geforce 8800GT 500GB / 320GB primary/secondary HDDs DVD Drive, Floppy drive, card reader Vista ultimate
And yeah, it's old with only one video card. Bout my 8800GT the day they were out, which was about two weeks before nvidia decided not to make them any more. Yeah I could throw something bigger in and let it clock down, but there doesn't seem to be much point. The one card is doing me fine right now anyway.
And pneuma, if you're running Vista, you NEED 4GB+ of RAM. Upgraded from 2GB to 6GB a couple months ago, it's was like night and day.

I'm running XP Pro x64. Never got into Vista.
I want to know what Vista does with all that extra memory. There's too much crap on computers these days...

pneuma, you can disable most of the processes that take up memory. Most of it is the damned see-through window frames. Luckily, those are *very* easily disabled.

Awesome as always, church. I was wondering when you'd chime in on this thread :D The second one reminds me of the "2 girls, 1 CPU" ctrl+alt+del comic. Incidentally, if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about DO NOT INVESTIGATE.
