Hmm I'm not so sure... If you rig it up right, it might be possible.

why do people always choose absolutely terrible maps as their fake community map inductee when they make these sorts of things
if it has got really long words, that mean's it's scientifically plausible

Well I suppose if you used the TNT as an ignition mechanism for an actual atomic bomb, then yes I suppose you could make a EMP with TNT. Also a mile-wide hole in the ground.

Whoever made that ripped off Fallout 3. Majorly. So? He's allowed. I think he did a good job with it. Props to you, Samuel.

I'd rather see something completely original.

Well I suppose if you used the TNT as an ignition mechanism for an actual atomic bomb, then yes I suppose you could make a EMP with TNT. Also a mile-wide hole in the ground. TNT cannot be used to set off nukes. Damaging a nuke's casing or shaking up it's insides actually renders it completely harmless. The best thing to do when you see a nuke comin atcha, is to shoot it. Actually, hmm. I suppose if you used a very small amount of TNT to force a piston and activate the electron ram, then yes, you could do it. But it'd be impracticle, bulky and prone to failure. Now on the other hand, using TNT to set off an EM pulse is actually VERY practicle. It's the cheapest and most powerful way to power a handheld EMP device I can think of. All you've gotta do is mount the TNT in a microwave tube, and set it off; the explosion of energy would be converted into microwave radiation- a form of electromagnetic energy- at a frequency, power and flunctuation perfect for taking out anything electronic (and not thoroughly insulated with the proper foil) in a small radius. Also good for melting the spy's birthday cake, and maybe his face a little. Don't see Valve publishing proprietary information of a prototypical American military technology in a video game and getting away with it, tho- at least not without pissing off a few military personnel you do NOT want to mess with. You know, the kind that use TNT explosions to power shoulder-mounted one-time-use-only microwave-focussing devices that can completely fry the Half-Life 2 Episode 3 database from afar.

ooooh, thats sexy. That update is pretty cool. Though I think there could be a better update.
You know, actually I think the engie's update should be the guard dog. Not exactly like it, but rather than build a turret, he should upgrade the dog, and give it commands. That would increase his mobility. ya know?
I think increasing mobility is the obvious way for them to change up the engie. That or change how he goes about killing. Like he could build traps? Not just like sticky minds but other things. Like a mine that directional blows enemies back.

Since scout is my main if the engie gets more mobile without getting a lot weaker, Ima shit bricks.

Well of course it would have to be weaker. I mean, really. If it got more mobile and didn't get weaker that wouldn't be an alt, that would be an upgrade ya know? Alternatively it could get more mobile but the tracking system could be slower. Or the projectiles could move slower.

TF2 unlockables don't redefine the character, they give players alternative ways to use the character to the same effect... so basically none of these are viable But they're pretty interesting nonetheless.

Would being mroe mobile redefine the character? I mean the fake update does kind of redefine the character, is that what you mean?

Personally I'd like to see a stronger sentry that only faces 180 degrees. That way soldiers and heavys couldn't force their way though as easily. But if you get behind it, it's toast.

Yeah, actually thats a good idea too. Though the way I see it, heavys and soldiers can already be repelled pretty well. I mean , it really depends on placement. The places they cant' be repelled are the ones where there is already multiple attacks points which would not play into the 180 thing, though I think thats a cool way of thinking about it.
Other things that could be tweaked. The range of the gun. What about a sniper turret? Or a rocket turret that only shoots rockets. The shots would be 1) slower 2) more powerful 3) longer sight range. It would need lower health though, because that would be so difficult to get close two. plus normal turret already has rockets.

I want to see a wrench, like the fabled PDQ, that allows you to build at a faster rate (-100% set up time plus the normal amount that is shaved of if you aid in the construction) and silences the noise made by buildings while they are setting up. Maybe even reduce the fireing noise of the sentry gun itself.

I think a faster building rate would increase the mobility of the engineer while not making it a roaming turret. I think thats cool. But it needs a debuff in some way or its not going to be balanced. Perhaps less health. I mean you could do a debuff on damage, but honestly, I don't think wrench is very competitive when it comes to melee, and its not like the engi wants people to get that close anyway.
