I learnt of the wonders of bandwidth on demand (5 extra gig for 5 dollars of 30 for 12.50) so I no longer need help and am downloading it on my own. Thanks to all the quasi-hoopy partial-froods who showed interest.
This is so crazy it might just work (and it may warrant it’s own thread)!
So, long story short, no stores around here have any pc borderland copies in stock (I asked the manager at the largest Gamestop around here and he said they only got one copy, and due to the high demand and low availability in Canada they won't have any more for a while and they can't promise to reserve any copies for me) and every mail order website says they are out of stock (and that when they get more stock it will be 15-18 days to ship a copy out). I would get it through steam but I don’t have unlimited bandwidth use permonth (30 gigabytes every 30 days, resets November 13 but I could probably mail order it by then). So, after hours of store hoping, website searching, and general treasure hunting, I have come to you! Yes, YOU!
INTERNET FRIEND SHIP POWERS, ACTIVATE!
Plan:
step1: figure out who lives closesest to me and also has a disk burner and bought borderlands through steam (Ottawa, Ontario is my location so if any one is willing to help me and has a disk burner post your location and we’ll go from there).
Step2: bug them till they burn the game files (just the GCF.) on to any cheap 30 cent disk.
Step3: address swap!
Step4: miracles of the semi outdated modern mail service!
Step5: wait…
Step6:
Step7: profit!
In return for this kind act of internet comradery I am willing to, wait for it… Say “thank you”! Also, to make up for the disk and envelop/stamp cost, I will give you myfirst born son free access to all my looted weapons in game (Ex. if I find Archibald’s dentures of plus twenty digestion aid I will give it to you!) and if I’m miss conceived and that isn’t how the game works I may just buy a reserved slot on MKWEA for you, I’m not sure yet.
SO, do YOU live on the third planet from the sun? Do YOU have a disk burner? Did YOU buy Borderlands through steam? Do YOU want to help a friend out and gain undying respect, gratitude, and receive possible 51(k 1007 (sick loot) in the process (and if you want even a reserve slot on top of all that)? Post, or PM me, now (warning: all following posters willing to help are extremely all together cool guys, who know where there towels are, attempts to be like them could result in loss of will to live, or maybe just a slight headache) if you fit these criteria and are willing to help.
