This looks like a pretty neat game.
Here a trailer is located.
Here is a long questions/answer list on the forum.
And here is a summary by me:
-FREE
-Possibly coming out late 2011
-free to play (there will be in game transactions, but they are guaranteed to not reduce the amount of skill required to play)
-NOT an MMO, just a really large co-op game where your character is persistent
-Co-op action shooter, with a couple hundred people (the rough figure for now, the game isn't even in beta yet) in PvP and PvE
-PvP, reportedly, will be based around a sort of user made "army" (clans) system. There is also talk about individual armies having tech levels that you further by completing goals in the game (pretty much a clan ladder system, I guess)
-Supposedly some sort of very large open world, with an amount of player control (town placement, whether towns get destroyed do too negligence, etc.) that is yet to be set, but will probably be pretty high
-Singleplayer/small number Co-Op campaign available (maybe?)
-A lot of customization in your gear (Jetpack/amour, weapons, gloves, etc.), I have heard mentions of being able to specifically lay out the stats for a gun to your preferences
-Vehicles have been seen in gameplay videos, but not officially talked about in depth
-Oh, and it looks like it will be a lot of fun too
The beta sign up is called a forum account. It isn't clear yet, but a, possibly random, group of people will be chosen from the forum account pot for the privilege of a beta account. So, go register on the forum, and possibly for the beta too, tell them Phevnil sent you. (No, really, there is a box for it during registration, don't lie, let them know the truth.)
If you are interested, I suggest you read the Q&A thread I linked to up near the top, as it explains everything here in more depth, and less second hand guesses.
So, I am really looking forward to playing this. Maybe with some of you guys? If I get an upgrade in my internet bandwidth cap, like I have been meaning too for some time now, I will download this as soon as possible. Whether that is the beta, or towards the end of next year, we will just have to see.
Edit: This is a nice little movie too.
