So, I've been quite curious about what sort of money Valve is making from their store -- this is the first real info I've found: kotaku.com/5669981/making-team-fortress-2-hats-turns-out-to-be-very-profitableThat's (up to) $47,000 per person. Let's say $200,000 divided between the 5 authors. Also let's assume a 50/50 split between Valve and the authors, which means Valve is up $200,000 from those items alone. And that's before we get into the 100% profit from keys. Not bad for a 3 year old game.

It's not a 50/50 split. There is definitive public proof that it's a 75/25 split, but no proof on who gets what side of that split.
