I've been playing Spiral Knights for a while with a couple friends and one thing that really makes the game slow down is the Crystal Energy (the energy you have to pay for). In order to get to later levels, you have to create/buy better items and in order to create them you need significant amounts of Crystal Energy.
With the influx of Steam players, the Crystal Energy market has dropped significantly and I'm trying to take advantage of it the best I can before it starts going back up. To buy Energy, I need crowns. To get crowns, I'm using the Auction House.
So, for those of you who played through the intro just to get the TF2 hat and have no intention of playing any further, would you mind crafting some stuff for me with the energy you get from those Mist Tanks you received for the promotion? You can't trade Mist Tanks, but I can trade you the recipes and ingredients and crowns needed to create the gear and you can trade the gear back.
For every 100 energy of stuff you craft (mostly using 1 and 2 star recipes at 10 and 50 energy each), I'll give you 2 scrap in TF2 as thanks (so a weapon per 25 energy). When you're down to 0 energy, you can use a Mist Tank (the game mails them to you, you accept the Tank, then use it from your inventory) to go back up 100 energy (you cannot go over 100 Mist Energy, so using the tank earlier isn't as effective.).
If you're interested, contact me on Steam! ^^

Oh, and for those who actually wanna play the game, here's a quick rundown: Main lobby has: Town Square - Training Room to the right just before the bazaar, Auction House right in the middle. Bazaar - Different guys sell different things, changes every day. Down in the lower left corner is the Token vendor who never changes and you can spend your tokens to get unique things and a recipe sales-girl who never changes either and has basic recipes. Do not buy Trinkets, you need a Trinket Upgrade that costs real money and only functions for 30 days. Arcade - This is where the playable part of the game is. There are a bunch of "gates" across the back wall. To the left are gates that are activated and the right has gates yet to be activated. The screens behind the gates indicate what the levels in that gate are like (cold-theme, undead-theme, etc.) and if you right click on the gate you can see what the exact levels are in that gate. To go past level 8, all your gear needs to have 2 or more stars, and to get past 17(?) you need 4+ star gear. The gates that aren't active is where you dump all those minerals you pick up, giving you a chunk of crowns. The levels of the gates are determined by what minerals were put into them, which is kinda neat. To play: Damage - There are 4 types of damage: Normal, Piercing, Elemental, and Shadow. When a baddy attacks, the color it shows before hand is the type of damage it's gonna do. Your helmet and armor can reduce the damage if it has the appropriate damage resist (so armor that resists Normal and Piercing won't do anything against Shadow). Shield resistances don't boost your own resistance, see shields below. All enemies are affected by normal damage equally, whereas some can be weak or strong against the other types (you'll have to look up the wiki to see the enemy resistances). Weapons - There are swords, guns, and bombs. You can only take 2 with you. Bombs are infinite, but you have to charge them up to drop them. You can take 2 bombs or 2 guns or 2 swords with you too, you don't have to have different ones. Some builds involve having guns of different damage types to attack baddies with whatever they're weak against. Shields - Blocking is essential at later levels. Learn to block often. The resistances of the shield are for the shield's own health. A shield has a certain amount of health which indicates how much damage it can take before it "breaks" and can't protect you until it recharges. If a shield is resistant to Normal and Piercing, a Shadow attack can make it break more easily than either Normal or Piercing. Energy - You have a gauge of Mist Energy that goes up at about 25 energy per 6 hours (so 100 over 24 hours). It maxes at 100, cannot be traded, goes across your entire account, and is somehow attached to your computer so making multiple accounts doesn't really work. Mist Energy is always used before Crystal Energy, even when crafting. Crystal Energy can only be bought with real money, but people who have bought it can trade it for Crowns. Crystal Energy has no limit and is needed to craft any recipe above 2 stars. Energy in general is used for every floor you go down and can res you if you die (at an exponential rate). Keep in mind, you can also be resurrected if an ally right-clicks on you, giving you half their health. Unique Variants - UV - The main appeal to crafting. Unique Variants are items created with extra stats beyond the norm. There's a 10% chance of a crafted item being a UV and can range from bonus damage to certain enemies (for weapons) to bonus resistance to a damage type (for armors), with other variations available. UVs only appear on crafted items and when you upgrade an item there's always a chance to get a UV as well (although you can only have one UV at a time, and when upgrading you can choose to retain the one you have if you don't wanna risk losing it). I think that's all the main points, for now. The wiki.spiralknights.com/Main_Page will cover most other things.

I'm trying out because it's free and I get a reward for trying it out in the form of a hat. If I don't enjoy it much I will surely help you out. I'll get back to you.

Seems okay, I might play it some more. But that's what I said about Alien Swarm.

I bet this game would be really cool if it were playable.
