2:22 AM - TheWackyWombat: Hey man, I've talked to a few people from MKWEA who are interested in creating a guild in Spiral Knights. 2:22 AM - FadedOasis: ha HA 2:22 AM - FadedOasis: I JUST talked to Xadera about that 2:22 AM - TheWackyWombat: yeh yeh, it's a lot more adicting then most of us expected Wacky's gracious enough to donate the 500 energy for it, and I'll gladly donate the 1000 crowns. What we're missing is a name. Should it be "MKWEA", "My Kids Won't Eat Art", or something else? Feel free to suggest things, I probably won't be making the guild for a day or two.

How about: "My Knights Won't Eat Art"? Assuming that it will accept a guild name that long. If not, I'm good with MKWEA.

Well, I just checked the settings and it looks like we're limited to about 20 letters and 3 words :/ We could cut it down to 'Wont eat art' but that doesnt have the same ring to me

No unusual capitalization. No hyphens allowed. Letters only. Final Destination. Guild name is "M Rotor Reseaters". Bug me if you want in.

Important things to know about the guild:
There is a guild hangout place. It's a big empty room with a crafting table near the back. Nothing real great there. Start your chat with "/guild" or "/g" to speak with everyone in the guild, wherever they are. This is probably the best guild feature I've used/seen. :-)
I promoted everyone from Recruit to Member, and I'll keep going once I figure out what the ranks actually do.

Urgh, I'll play some time for sure but everyone is going to have to manually add "Phevnil" as I had an account back from beta and it looks like there is no way to link it to the steam auto-friend-list system. I have hardly played since beta ended and my items were reset, so I'm probably at the same equipment level as you guys. It is a pretty good game though!

I've decided with my weapons and armor to go for a dervish-type approach. Two swords (currently looking at the Flourish line and either the Brandish->Acheron darkness line or Sealed Sword->Divine Avenger line) Armor is definitely going to be the Wolver line for the + attack damage, and i think i like the Bristling Buckler (from killing the snarbolax) for more + attack damage.
Basically, I'm setting myself up to quickly kill big targets while everyone else dicks around with the stuff in the way. The Flourish's charge attack lets me leap through lines of baddies to killinate healers/bosses/etc with extreme prejudice. I was dropping Alpha Wolvers in a single charge attack/ 3 hit normal combo (though, they happen to be vulnerable to piercing damage too)
Edit: Obviously, I'm setting myself up for group play, rather than soloing.

Oh god you're talking about future progress of your character. You're better at this than I am.
"So, I have a sword and a gun. Ooh, a better sword. /buy."

Cake, jellies and lichens are slimes, they're resistant to piercing damage. That's why I'm starting to work on a weapon that deals shadow damage, since slimes and gremlins are vulnerable to shadow. Basically, my two weapons will give me an advantage against 4 of the 6 enemy types, and keep me even against the remaining two (constructs and undead). | Slimes | Constructs | Gremlins | Undead | Beasts | Fiends | Flourish | X | X | O | O | A | A | Acheron | A | O | A | X | O | X |
X - Weapon weak against enemy type O - Weapon neutral against enemy type A - Weapon strong against enemy type Tables. Are. Fun. Faded- I almost feel like I need to plan ahead in this game, the fire sword that i was working on only goes up to 2 stars, so it's not worth investing in. Also, I just need to dig back down to Moorcroft Manor in order to be Tier 2! Hurrah! EDIT: Cake, do you have 'Display Damage' turned on? It'll tell you whether the damage you're dealing is resisted (gray numbers) normal (blue numbers) or super-effective (orange-brownish numbers). Also, when looking at armor, you can tell what type of damage an enemy's attack will deal by looking at the pattern on the ground when they attack (notice wolvers have a yellow three prong pattern on the ground when they bite, versus zombies who have a purple pattern when they claw you).

So, more details. If the wiki is correct ( wiki.spiralknights.com/Abilities), each of those attack damage items i'm now wearing equals an individual +6.5% increase to sword attack damage. Meaning i'm now doing +19.5% more sword damage against everything. Sweet. EDIT: I'm good at links.

Speaking of which, did everyone get bored with this? I know I usually log in daily to make shit to sell, or dive with other people if they're on, but almost every day, my ME goes to crafting stuff to sell.

Get 4 people together and it's really fun. I started branching out into bombs and found that it makes some of the fights significantly easier with someone running around throwing freeze bombs out.

Good. More people playing means it's more likely i won't log on just to craft two things to sell for the day.

Wombat, I haven't forgotten that I need to repay you, buddy - I just haven't been playing that much lately. You will be repaid, sire.
