Hmm. Well, I think everyone has HL2: Death match, we could hijack a server for that. Although, I never found it that fun. If anyone else has a better idea, I think you should go with that.

I've thought about it a bit, I'm leaning toward some Minecraft multiplayer. Not official yet, I'll have to think about it some more.

I was going to suggest Civ IV even though I've never actually played it because it's one of the only games I can play on my Macbook other than TF2. Doesn't look like many people have it though.
I hadn't thought about Minecraft, I would be down for that.

Well, it could be more than just this one week, in theory. What is wrong with this week?

I just finished configuring a Minecraft SMP server, so I'm going to make Monday the Minecraft day. If people have more suggestions, we can extend this to be more than a week. :-)

I pushed all the events to 8pm Eastern, so the west coast people can get in on some action. I am planning for each of these events to run late into the night, though, so the starting time shouldn't matter.

Well, shit. I guess I broke something, and now I can't get people to connect to the Minecraft server. well, it'll still be minecraft monday, we might just have to hijack someone else's server.

I'm late to the party as always, but it sounds like a good time! Saturday and Sunday may be a miss due to plans, but I might be back by 8. And I still haven't got Minecraft. Apparently this is because I hate fun.
EDIT: I'd ask for a Sins (of a Solar Empire) night, but that's limited to me and Scrambles right now I think; I also don't want to trigger the HoN vs. LoL debate again.

Haha, I was going to bring it (league of legends) up as a joke sugestion. It is free, so anyone could play. I would start a new acount so that everyone won't get pulled up into a higher level bracket and everything.

I didn't want to add anything too long. I had ideas like Borderlands, but I wanted to limit it to games that you could join late or quit early. :-)

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm looking forward to more worms hilarity. Hopefully i won't try to kill someone and end up killing myself.

Tomorrow night is Worms Wednesday. We will be using the Steam voice chat. Several people have had initial problems with it in the past, so I must stress that you make sure your settings are correctly adjusted.
Settings: Voice: Change Device. Make sure your main microphone is the default. Also, you may want to use a push-to-talk key, you can change this in the same place. If you wish to test this in a real situation, feel free to (text) message me after noon EDT. I'll try and help everyone get it working.
We will be joining the "Nice, Polite Players" grout Steam chat, so make sure you are in that group. To join the chat, go to your friends list, hit the arrow next to the group, and hit "Join chat room." I'll try to be in there at 7:30, maybe earlier if people need help.

I should probably set mine to PTT, otherwise Mrs. Clown god of Puppetry might be overheard complaining about something or another.

An idea for future game nights: Dystopia! They just reached v1.30 It's one of the most polished HL2 mods out there. It's extremely fun but, it has a learning curve. (And a tutorial.) You can even download the game directly from steam. www.dystopia-game.com

Hey, we could still do Borderlands, we would just have campaigns where everyone places that character aside, and every Borderlands day we all play with the same quartet. I think this would help poor, poor sora out. Along the same lines, maybe I can fish out a free MMO that's worth playing and we could have a night where everyone logs on together and we run about causing mischief! EDIT: Like Dungeons & Dragons Online! We could all make a super-party and make a ruckus! This is getting me terribly worked up.

Borderlands Single Player: Hey this is fun! Borderlands Multiplayer: Who needs to host the repeat quests? Oops, thats a firewall. Here let me tell you how to disable your firewall. 45 minutes later no one want to play anymore.

Some one say ruckus? Sure, I'm up for some rabble-rousing. Edit: But if it is going to be a one night sort of thing, I think we should find something that isn't three to four gigabytes. Unless it is something that would be worth while to continue playing after the initial fun, but I don't really like MMOs for much more than causing a ruckus with friends.

Gigabytes, phev Also, IMPORTANT: if we're going to use Steam voice chat then you gotta make sure you set voice quality to maximum. Create a shortcut to Steam.exe (program files\steam). Right-click on it, select "properties", and add "-voice_quality 3" to the field market "Target:" Now hit apply and launch steam from the shortcut you made. Now I can understand what you say. (this week is "I love launch options" week, in loving reference to launch options which fixed my TF2 [and broke it but meh] and I hope are now about to fix steam.)

But seriously, I'd like something campaign-y like that.

That was a fun five hours of Worms last night. What did we have, eleven people total?
Tonight is Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Join the NPP chat room at about 8pm (a little earlier would be better), and we'll go into groups from there. We will NOT be using Steam voice chat, just the in-game voice chat. Please make sure you have both games installed and updated. :-)
