So how do I load that file, scrambles? I can't even find my own save files, I assumed they were stored on a central server, all cloudy-like.

Whatsit, if you have Windows, just type %appdata% into the address of any explorer folder (just open a folder, type that into the bar, hit enter) and it should bring you right to Application Data. From there, go to .minecraft -> saves. Just dump Scrambles' folder into there along with the other worlds and when you load Minecraft your World3 will be Scrambles' (name it to World4 or something if you already have a World3).

Ahh, got it, thanks. Seems windows 7 does search a little differently than it used to -- it assured me there was nothing named 'minecraft' or 'World1' on that drive.

I think application data is hidden by default.

--------------------------------MORE MINECRAFT CONTEST INFO-------------------
The contest begins today, and you have until next Monday to complete your masterpiece. Just a few ground rules -- Must play on Normal Difficulty No help from external programs! Find stuff the old fashioned way! You can build whatever you want wherever you want.
I will be judging the creations, so I need to have your changed world by next Monday. You can upload it to a file sharing website like mediafire or dropbox and pm me the link.
This contest is just for fun and bragging rights. I think it will be really cool to see the different things everyone does with the same map! I will post pictures of all the maps and the winner to this thread sometime after next Monday. Perhaps I can find a token prize for the winner, we will see.
Remember, just have fun and use your imagination!!
This is going to be so cool.

Holy crap Scrambles! Look what I found dwelling deep in the recesses of your world! i.imgur.com/iTgNK.jpgI was greeted by a small one at the hole I broke open, but these were even further inside so I doubt they were related. Edit: Zomg, there's so many! i.imgur.com/fNWjk.jpgThat's down the hole after luring the others out and killing them. (Edit 2: I just dropped down the hole after wiping them out, completely closed off. But I hear more through the walls!) i.imgur.com/Wxf2l.jpgThat's at the end of the hall o.O (Edit 3: i.imgur.com/SnRew.jpg Right around the corner from down the hall o.o Edit 4: i.imgur.com/XhyGN.jpg Around that next corner.... (one is a creeper, though) i.imgur.com/J3WXU.jpg That's the last of them!) Edit 5: i.imgur.com/6eeS1.jpg - Daww, they're so cute and squishy! i.imgur.com/Lfxke.jpg - Umm.... i.imgur.com/XwkZQ.jpg - Ain't no party like a goo-baby party 'cause a goo-baby party don't stop! (Until they drown in the shallow puddle because they're so smalll... R.I.P. one dozen goo-babies, may your gooey remnants rest well in my chest.) Edit 6: Ohhh crap... After clearing everything out, I went back home to dump some stuff, then returned to finish mining and found this: i.imgur.com/twjKG.jpgI think I found a Slime Spawner, sorta o.O Final conclusion: Be careful when you attack slimes. I was knocking one safely and knocked it through the stone so it broke clipping, ignored all barriers, came right for me, and killed me because I couldn't even hit it. Turns out they are respawning in the general area, and I found yet another room with them. Be careful kids. Slimes might look fun, but they can be deadly!

People keep asking be if they should get this game. This post is for them.
No, I can not explain it to you. I am incapable of such a feat. Every written description of the game makes it sound like the most boring activity ever. Go watch some videos of gameplay, they will help partially explain it to you. To really learn about the game, you must play it for yourself.
My opinion is a very weighted one. I started this thread one month ago. I have been playing Minecraft since a week before that. Of course I am going to say you should buy it, so stop asking that question to me. Ask it to someone who has stopped playing. Then realize that virtually none of the people who have bought the game have stopped playing it. Minecraft has sold nearly 20,000 copies in the past day, 100,000 copies in the past month, and nearly 200,000 copies since it was first created.
No, don't buy it. It's a horrible, horrible game and I don't know why anyone, including myself, would spend more than six hours every day playing it.

So, I'm minding my own business, expanding my main minecart tracks when all of a sudden I hear a zombie moan and get slapped across the face, WHAM!! I have no idea what happened, then I look over and see this: imgur.com/SDvT1.pngI named him Jeod. He got stuck somewhere up above and rode the cart all the way down to the bottom where I was standing!

Scrambles I was working on a thing for your thing and I got killed by a skeleton because sound was broken. I had moved a ways away from spawn - like to another continent - so I got really lost trying to get back. When I finally found it my stuff was fortunately still there, so I built a giant nerdpole to help me find my way back. And then I fell off and died trying to get back down And then when I was on my way back again I got one-shotted by a creeper on a mountainside. This project is cursed.

Wheeze, that totally just gave me another rule that I should implement. If you built your whatever far away, I need to be able to find it! So I guess towers and signs would be helpful.

I get the impression, that you really should be trying the alpha, and not the classic... as the classic does not have all of these fancy doors and things.

Yeh I tried the classic and hated it, but when the alpha was open for a bit I played it and loved it.

Ok, this may be my commit-and-buy or run wait-and-see decision point: How's multiplayer functioning?
I may be lying to myself, I'll probably just buy it anyway.

Multiplayer is working much better than it once was inventory is now persistant, however that said it's still not a finished product. And hell, you certainly don't need multiplayer to have fun, for minecraft at least. I'm telling you Brian, it's worth the investment. Join ussssss Join usssssssssssss!!!

No, that's stupid. As long as you save when you are near your structure I will be there too. I'm crazy. lol, yeah, I totally realized that too, long after I had finished brainstorming, so I've got spawn protection and a path to my home all set up XD But, think of it as reassurance in case you somehow die! (Which is entirely possible if you wanna play with slimes or something) Well, I put in all the finishing touches on mine (as far as I'm gonna go) and it's technically Monday for me, so here you go! dl.dropbox.com/u/11963720/World4%20Xadera%27s%20World.rarFew notes: -I changed it to World 4 because I needed to reload the starting map as World 3 because I forgot what the signs said and I took them down when I first started to be used for later. -If for some reason my house is on fire, please just reload the game. I've spent hours without issues, so I think I'm set, but lava tends to be fickle and break its own rules. -I have no compass on me. I never used one (which is why the file is so big, I got lost on the water and took a while to find my way back), so don't go venturing too far. I stayed pretty tight to my surroundings otherwise, minus the caverns, and I have the main attractions pointed out. Also, on a different note, has anyone else been getting error logs as of just a few days ago whenever you exit Minecraft? I don't even have to load a map, just starting and exiting Minecraft will do it, leaving a txt log in the folder with Minecraft.exe. I thought it might be just me, but my brother has started getting them as well. -Edit: Seems it's not just my brother and I, Notch wrote some bad code that's causing the errors in the latest update: minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=43363minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=26559I think it's also causing my java memory to spike to 400k-800k, whereas before I remember it being closer to 100k-400k, and I think it's making my graphics card run much hotter (like 80C at times o.O).

I have also gotten those error files. I have also gotten a creeper to explode one of my storage chests accidentally. I spent that entire day trying to recover all of the nonsense from right outside my base.

I was lost nearly the entire time so I didn't get much of anything built. That's the price you pay for building a continent away from spawn in an extremely secluded location.
I did eventually manage to get some redstone and build a compass so I could build a trail of lamp posts back to spawn. I'll post it whenever I get it more complete.

It's true, he did make that, almost exactly in fact. Once I have everyone's save files by the end of tonight (that's midnight central time) I'll look at everyone's, post pictures, and then declare the winner.

lol, poor guy. I especially feel sorry for him when he makes the nerdy nervous laugh-cry sound as he tries to play it off as a silly accident but then realizes all his work is just about to go up in flames :<
